THIRD PERIOD (12.2017-12.2018)
Objectives
To provide updated information regarding the project in the community of cardiology in Romania through the Romanian Society of Cardiology
To inform cardiologists and medical professionals from other specialties (such as pediatricians, emergency room doctors, general practitioners) regarding the initiation of the project locally, during various scientific events
To inform a larger group of medical professionals in Romania about the project by means of an article published in a medical journal
To inform a larger group of medical professionals in Romania about the project through an e-learning medical platform
Extensive screening for the identification of patients to be included in the study
The main purpose of this period has been to continue the clinical research on CPVT in Romania. We have made efforts to inform the medical community in Romania on the CPVT project, and more importantly to improve the community’s knowledge on the disease. This has been achieved, like in the previous year, through messages directed at the Community of Cardiology in Romania, as well as medical professionals from other specialties (such as pediatricians, emergency room doctors, general practitioners), who are very likely to come in contact with patients with CPVT.
Further dissemination of the knowledge on CPVT has been made by publishing an editorial on the disease in a medical journal.
We have also initiated a teaching course on CPVT for the medical community in Romania through an e-learning platform.
Furthermore, we have continued our screening for potential candidates for inclusion in the database of the University and Emergency Hospital, extending into the Resuscitation Registry.
Lastly, we have performed the follow-up of the patients already included in the study and have also screened their family members.
