The appropriate measures have been taken to inform the local cardiology community about the initiation of the project. Furthermore, we have established a working collaboration with the leading names in Romanian electrophysiology during national congresses and simposiums, to enhace the project’s visibility.
The documentation necessary for the initiation of the project in our centre (University and Emergency Hospital Bucharest) has been ellaborated: the romanian version of the study protocol and the informed consent, as well as the official approval of the Ethics Committee. Furthermore, the Consortium Agreement has been approved by the local Legal Department.
The infrastructure has been organized, in order to allow the initiation of the study. The available equipment has been evaluated and supplimentary equipment has been acquisitioned, namely an ECG telemetry system, as well as a personal computer for data analysis. The personnel involved in the study has been trained regarding the procedures within the study. Also, a protocol for the transportation and preservation of the blood samples for the genetic testing has been developed.
We have included the first patient in the CPVT Registry, following a retrospective analysis of the patients admitted in our hospital in the last 10 years.
The project is also the fundament for a doctoral thesis, under the supervision of Dr Calin Siliste.
